Mood: Angry
Today was a crazy day.
First of all, during Media in Society tutorial today, we were supposed to have a debate (half of the class VS half of the class) on whether minority groups are sufficiently represented in today's media society.
So, in my group, the opposition team, there were me, Charlotte, Natasha, Angela, Jeanette, Yulin, Heather and Yeeting.
The other group consists of some people who were in my most top-hated list in NP.
I just can't be bothered to list them out.
Seriously, do they even use their brains when they talk?
This is what happened.
My group:
The Tamil channel used to be merged together with kids central, and even though its an own independent channel now, the time slot for it is still very limited, like it only shows programs from 3pm to 1230am. But what about the morning time slot? How don't they cater shows for the Tamils from the morning to the afternoon too? As you know, from morning to 3pm is actually quite a long period of time... ~continues~Hated group, Miss G:
*total bitch look* Oh, so you mean that they don't have to go to work in the morning at all? *total bitch look again* ~continues~My group: But there are housewives and children still at home in the morning, why do they not have the privilege of watching TV in the morning, why are the privileges only given to the majority like the Chinese instead? We're equal human beings, but why aren't we given the same privileges? ~continues~Hated group, Mr J:
That TV morning thing ah~ it's nonsense lah~ *hated group laughs* ~continues~WHAT THE F?
DID YOU EVEN USE YOUR BRAIN TO UNDERSTAND OUR POINT? (if not, you can try using your asses to think for a change.)
NONSENSE? YEAH RIGHT MR J. YOU'RE SOOOO LOGICAL AND WE'RE JUST PURE NONSENSE.
THE FACT THAT THERE ARE HOUSEWIVES STAYING IN THEIR OWN HOUSES IN THE MORNING ARE NONSENSE, THE FACT THAT THERE ARE CHILDREN AT HOME IN THE MORNING IS JUST SOOOOO STUPID. YES, STUPID US!
AND MISS G, IT DOESN'T MEAN SINGAPORE WOULD HAVE TO STOP SHOWING PROGRAMS WHEN PEOPLE GOES TO WORK. IN THAT CASE WHY DON'T THE MEDIA JUST CLOSE DOWN THE WHOLE MEDIACORP, SINCE THERE'LL BE PEOPLE WORKING 24/7!
And that's not all. At the later part of the debate.
My group: ~talks talks~ and the media actually influences our minds and gives us a certain impression of the minority in Singapore, so when we see the minority we tend to stereotype them ~continues~Hated group, Miss A: All what you've said is rubbish lah, stereotype has got nothing to do with the media influencing us.OH. MY. GOD.
I'VE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY, MISS A.
FANCY CALLING OTHER PEOPLE'S SPEECH RUBBISH WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN GET YOUR BASIC FACTS RIGHT.
EVEN SEOKTENG (WHO ISN'T EVEN A POLY STUDENT) FEELS THAT WHAT MY GROUP SAID MAKES TOTAL SENSE.
PLEASE, JUST GET THE HELL OUT AND GO READ YOUR TEXTBOOK.
And after all of those anger they had set off in me, I thought the day was going to be smooth sailing afterwards.
But as you know, things don't always go the way you thought it would.
After school ended at 5, Miss G (the one with the total bitch look while rebutting my team), asked me if I could possibly change team for the Location Video Production module. She said she doesn't want to be in the same group as Miss A and Miss S.
And to Miss G, do you think I want?
Miss G then said it sooo logically that it'd be okay with me cos at least when I go over to her team, I'd have Natasha with me.
Then I was like, but if I exchange teams with you and go with Natasha, then wouldn't Charlotte in alone in my initial team then?
And yes, Miss G couldn't care less.
Please grow up Miss G, stop acting like a huge whiny babyass and keep saying that you can't work with Miss A and Miss S. You told me that you were friends with Miss A and Miss S, yet you said that being friends and working together is a different thing altogether, and that you can't work well with them.
But aren't friends supposed to work together to make things happen? You're just so immature and irresponsible. When we were finalizing our teams, you even said 'I'M FINE WITH ANYTHING'.
Fine? You call that fine now?
You're just a totally irresponsible person who can't even keep to her words.
If I were in your shoes and I said 'I'm fine with anything', I may have regretted my words, yes.
But one thing for sure, I won't go around afterwards causing unwanted stress and trouble for everybody, including the teacher.
Who do you think you are? What makes you think the teacher would want to reshuffle TWO ENTIRE TEAMS just because of YOU?!
You're just concerned about your grades, so much that you're willing to sacrifice other people's grades instead.
AND just admit it, you just want stick with Miss M and Mr J.
And like an idea Charlotte suggested to me for fun,
how about Charlotte and me BOTH goes over to your group and you come over instead?
We'll have 6 people in our team, and you'll only have FOUR.
Think you can achieve anything great with four people? Think again.
Sheesh, some people never learn.
And guess what, you totally made me wasted one hour of my time trying to ask to me exchange teams with you.
PLEASE, I STILL HAVE ALOT OF GRAPHICS COMMUNICATION PROJECT TO FINISH BY TONIGHT, WHY DON'T YOU GO BOTHER MR J AND ASK HIM TO EXCHANGE TEAM WITH YOU INSTEAD OF KEEPING ON BOTHERING ME TO SWITCH WITH YOU INSTEAD.
And to Miss A and Miss S, I hope you'll soon realise how many people actually DREAD working with you two.
Couldn't you guys be anymore inconsiderate?
Natasha hurt her finger by carrying the equipments for you guys on Tuesday, while you both were busy talking bad about Miss G behind her back!
Did you guys even notice that one of your group members were hurt?
Did you guys even HEAR when Natasha asked you if you want to return the equipments?
Even Yeeting they all (who's like, so NOT in your group) have to help Natasha return the filming equipments, just because YOU GUYS totally refused to open up your ears to hear, refused to move your legs because you just want to stand there stupidly and bitch about Miss G, and just because you guys were too damn freaking lazy to move your arms and help carry the equipments back.
You guys still have to depend on members from another group to help return your stuffs.
SHAME, SHAME.You can't believe how foul my mood was on the way home today.
And like really! Thanks so much to CHERYL for brightening up my night by telling me she saw DBSK on Channel 50 and even saying that their smiles were nice!! :D
It's nice to hear something like that from a non-fan. Haha :D
